Wellroot Receives Gift from United Methodist Connectional Federal Credit Union

On October 17, 2019, United Methodist Connectional Federal Credit Union joined with 56,000 credit unions around the world in celebration of the 71st International Credit Union (ICU) Day. ICU Day is a time to recognize the global credit union movement’s history and promote its achievements. This year’s theme, “Local Service. Global Reach.” speaks to how each credit union serves a local community.

United Methodist Connectional Federal Credit Union Celebrates 71st International Credit Union (ICU) Day® by Giving Back to Communities and Members
Marietta, GA (October 16, 2019) – On October 17, 2019, United Methodist Connectional Federal Credit Union will join with 56,000 credit unions around the world in celebration of the 71st International Credit Union (ICU) Day®. ICU Day is a time to recognize the global credit union movement’s history and promote its achievements.
This year’s theme, “Local Service. Global Reach.” speaks to how each credit union serves a local community—and it is because of that local service in communities across the world that the global credit union movement is now 260 million members strong.
To celebrate ICU Day within the credit union’s local fold, United Methodist Connectional Federal Credit Union will donate $3,000 to organizations in need within the four Methodist conferences the credit union serves. Six organizations will each receive $500. In addition, the credit union will offer a very competitive auto loan refinance discount to credit union members October 10th – November 12th, 2019 and serve refreshments to members at both branch locations on ICU Day.
“Credit unions help people afford life,” says United Methodist Connectional FCU President and CEO Keith Pritchard. “So we use this day to support those community organizations that help families gain solid footing in life, as well as to give back to our credit union members in the form of competitive discounts on the financial solutions they need such as auto loans.”
The six receiving organizations include MUST Ministries (North Georgia) www.mustministries.org; Wellroot Family Services (North Georgia) www.wellroot.org; Vashti Children’s Home (South Georgia) www.vashti.org; Florida United Methodist Children’s Home (Florida) www.fumch.org; United Methodist Children’s Home (Alabama) www.umch.net and The Methodist Home for Children and Youth (South Georgia) www.themethodisthome.org. Individuals are invited to make personal donations to continue the celebration and help those in need.
