The eighth annual FamFest celebrated Wellroot’s community of families, caregivers, and staff with a seasonal flair. Wellroot welcomed so many families to Six Flags Over Georgia, festively decorated for Boo Fest. Families from across Wellroot’s programs stepped into character, sporting costumes, decorating superhero masks, and enjoying face paint to bring their superpowers to life.
“FamFest is the one event we have each year where all our families, children, and staff come together to enjoy a day filled with connection and joy,” said Wellroot CEO and President Allison Ashe. “It’s a chance for them to get to know each other, understand they’re a part of a broader community, and build relationships.”
Adding to the fun, sponsors and volunteers went above and beyond with Halloween-themed goody bags decorated as friendly ghosts. Families enjoyed activities like corn hole, craft tables, and games that brought out smiles and laughter. Volunteers assisted at the craft tables, helping children make creative keepsakes, while others cheered families on in friendly games that added to the day’s excitement.
It was Lynn’s first time attending FamFest with her family. Lynn graduated from Wellroot’s Functional Family Therapy program in January 2024. As a hardworking CNA and caregiver, she cherished the quality time spent with her two children and the opportunity to meet other Wellroot families.
“I appreciated being invited to mingle and meet other families that may share our story or similar strengths,” Lynn shared.
