Foster Care
From taking first steps to graduating high school, there are many milestones in a child’s life that can benefit from the helping hands of a caring adult. In Georgia, thousands of children are in need of a supportive, stable home where they can be guided through these important milestones—and reach their full potential. Wellroot Family Services connects these children with nurturing foster families and works with them to make sure that they have the proper training and support every step of the way. When you make room in your heart and your home, children in need are given the opportunity to thrive.
Transitional and Independent Living
Many young people who transition from foster care without a strong network of support experience very poor outcomes at a much higher rate than their peers in the general population. That’s why, in addition to foster care for children, we shepherd young adults as they transition from foster care to adulthood. Our programming is specifically designed to help them navigate this new life stage, and we provide steadfast, round-the-clock guidance. Wellroot Family Services ensures that these young people are set up for financial, personal, and spiritual success.
Family Housing
The prospect of homelessness is frightening for any family, especially those without resources or anywhere to turn. For such families, we offer housing, stability and a safety net of intervention services designed to enhance skills and self-sufficiency. Our experienced team is with them on every step of their journey. We provide training and support in career development, continuing education, financial management, parenting and personal development.
Healthy Families America
For nearly 30 years, Healthy Families America has worked toward a singular vision: all children receive nurturing care from their families that leads to a healthy, long, and successful life. HFA helps parents bring out the best in themselves by tapping into the skills they already possess. Parents develop and achieve goals related to what is most important to them, whether it’s school, work, housing, childcare, health, relationships, or other life skills. Families that enroll in HFA receive the support they need based on their specific circumstances.
Positive Parenting Program
Triple P – Positive Parenting Program is a parenting and family support system designed to prevent and treat behavioral and emotional problems in children and teenagers. Triple P gives parents simple and practical strategies to help them build strong, healthy relationships, confidently manage their children’s behavior, and prevent problems developing. The program is not designed to tell individuals how to be a parent. It, instead, presents a toolbox of ideas. Parents choose the strategies they need and how to use them.
Functional Family Therapy
Therapy is an important part of healing from trauma and helps young people to overcome behavior problems. FFT has been designed to help families with teens who are facing complex and multidimensional problems. In fact, this therapy model targets 11-18-year-old youth who deal with behavioral and substance abuse problems. Teens can influence the whole family unit and throw it off balance, which is why FFT pays special attention to the younger siblings or concerned adolescent siblings.
