Where Resilient Families Take Shape
Home is a special place. Beyond a roof over our head, home is a safe, secure, loving environment shared with those we care about most. It might be easy to take this concept for granted, yet there are thousands of children and young adults in the foster care system of Georgia who don’t know what a stable home feels like. As an agency of The United Methodist Church in North Georgia, Wellroot Family Services’ (formerly called The United Methodist Children’s Home) programs are designed to change this reality through faith-centered service. With a focus on supporting youth from infancy through early adulthood, we help people reach their God-given potential through the encouragement and love of a healthy home.

From taking first steps to graduating high school, there are many milestones in a child’s life that can benefit from the helping hands of a caring adult. In Georgia, thousands of children are in need of a supportive, stable home where they can be guided through these important milestones—and reach their full potential. Wellroot Family Services connects these children with nurturing foster families and works with them to make sure that they have the proper training and support every step of the way. When you make room in your heart and your home, children in need are given the opportunity to thrive.
Transitional and Independent Living
Many young people who transition from foster care without a strong network of support experience very poor outcomes at a much higher rate than their peers in the general population. That’s why, in addition to foster care for children, we shepherd young adults as they transition from foster care to adulthood. Our programming is specifically designed to help them navigate this new life stage, and we provide steadfast, round-the-clock guidance. Wellroot Family Services ensures that these young people are set up for financial, personal, and spiritual success.
The prospect of homelessness is frightening for any family, especially those without resources or anywhere to turn. For such families, we offer housing, stability and a safety net of intervention services designed to enhance skills and self-sufficiency. Our experienced team is with them on every step of their journey. We provide training and support in career development, continuing education, financial management, parenting and personal development.
