Every family faces challenges. When those challenges begin to affect a family’s stability, it can be hard to know what to do next. The Family Advocacy Project provides free, confidential legal help to Hall County families so they can understand their options, take action, and move forward with clarity and support.
Families shouldn’t have to wait for a crisis to get help.
The Family Advocacy Project provides preventive legal advocacy to support families early — before destabilizing challenges escalate to possible separation through the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS). Our holistic team includes attorneys, a social worker, and peer advocacy working together with parents and caregivers to strengthen stability at home and connect families to needed supports. Participation is voluntary.

Substance use affecting caregiving
Discipline & special education issues
Public benefits disruptions
Housing instability or eviction risk
Immigration-related concerns
How It Works
Referral
School staff, community partners, or families may submit a referral through our secure online form.
Initial Contact
A member of our team connects directly with the family to understand their concerns and determine eligibility.
Legal Advocacy & Support
If appropriate, the family begins working with our interdisciplinary team to address identified challenges and strengthen stability at home.
Who We Serve
Family Advocacy Project works with families in Hall County who have children under 18 and are facing civil legal challenges that could impact family stability. Our goal is to provide proactive support that helps families navigate issues early.
