Raise Awareness For Foster Care in Georgia

Did you know May is National Foster Care Awareness Month? Families involved with the child welfare system experience a wide array of needs that can challenge their ability to provide for their children’s well-being. We recognize the important role community partners play in meeting those needs through partnerships with local agencies and child welfare professionals.

Your congregation can partner with Wellroot Family Services to help support foster families. We invite you to use National Foster Care Awareness Month to engage individuals and groups in foster care ministry and as your Community Cultivator, I would love to share resources with you.

There are over 14,000 children in the foster care system of Georgia, and more foster homes for sibling groups and teens are badly needed! By promoting foster care, you can help increase the number of children kept close to their biological family, community, and support networks.
