We are deeply grateful for the overwhelming support that made the Wellroot Family Christmas parties a joyous occasion for families across our programs and locations. More than 470 children and their families received a warm welcome at the Tucker headquarters, St. Paul UMC in Gainesville, Georgia, and Aldersgate UMC in Augusta, Georgia.
Through the generous support of donors and sponsors, our community served nearly 1,000 people this Christmas. At the Wellroot Christmas celebrations, while children eagerly shared their wishes with Santa, parents and caregivers slipped away to Santa’s Toy Shop to pick out gifts. Together, we helped make holiday wishes come true, alleviating the stress of holiday shopping for families navigating difficult times.
Santa’s helpers engaged children in crafting Christmas ornaments, creating balloon art, and enjoying desserts with hot chocolate. English- and Spanish-speaking volunteers assisted parents with selecting toys, clothes, plus parenting essentials, and loading family cars with thoughtfully prepared sacks of toys.
Wellroot Family Services’ CEO and President Allison Ashe, the church and community engagement team, and staff extend heartfelt thanks to corporate partners, volunteers, and churches for making the day memorable for our community.
Our Wellroot family comes together to ensure every child in our programs experiences love, care, and a sense of belonging during Christmastime. Engaging in family traditions during the holidays helps children understand the significance of rituals and shared experiences, creating lasting memories and fostering the spirit of giving.
