How We Support Individuals & Families

Wellroot’s Behavioral Health Center provides coordinated, evidence-based services for children, adolescents, and families, including outpatient therapy and Medicaid-funded care as a Child & Adolescent Core Tier 2 Provider. Services are delivered through flexible modalities, including in-office, in-home, and telehealth options, connecting families to care that meets clinical needs and reduces barriers to access.

Child and Adolescent CORE Services

Wellroot is a trusted provider of CORE Services, Georgia’s Medicaid-funded behavioral health program for children and youth. Through CORE, families can access counseling, psychiatric support, nursing care, and community services in one coordinated system that simplifies getting the right help at the right time.

Wellroot’s CORE Services focus on understanding each individual’s needs, strengthening family and community supports, and offering integrated care that promotes long-term well-being.

Mental Health Assessments

A comprehensive initial evaluation conducted by a master’s-level clinician to understand presenting symptoms, environmental factors, and support needs. This assessment helps determine the most appropriate level of care and clinical recommendations.

Diagnostic Assessments

A structured, formal evaluation completed by a licensed clinician to examine symptoms, history, and functional impacts. Diagnostic assessments identify whether a behavioral health disorder is present and form the foundation for an individualized treatment plan.

Service Plan Development

A personalized, collaborative plan outlining treatment goals, recommended services, and needed supports. The service plan guides the overall course of care and ensures alignment with the individual’s strengths and needs.

Services Provided

Individual Therapy

One-on-one sessions designed to help individuals process emotions, build coping skills, and work toward positive change. Sessions typically last 30–60 minutes.

Group Therapy

Skill-building and therapeutic groups that provide a structured environment for learning, practicing new strategies, and gaining support from peers with similar experiences. Groups typically last 45 to 60 minutes and are led by a master’s-level clinician.

Family Support

Services designed to strengthen communication, resolve conflict, and support healthy relationships within the family system.

Psychiatric Treatment & Management

Psychiatric care is coordinated through Wellroot’s community partners. Through this collaboration, families can access licensed psychiatric providers who complete diagnostic reviews, assess medication needs, prescribe when appropriate, and monitor progress. Wellroot helps ensure that psychiatric care is seamlessly integrated with the child’s overall treatment plan.

Nursing Assessment & Management

Nursing staff provide health monitoring, medication support, and care coordination to address physical and behavioral health needs as part of a holistic treatment approach.

Community Support

Community Support Services help individuals connect with local resources, build essential life skills, and strengthen natural support networks. These services offer practical assistance, guidance, and advocacy to promote stability and increased independence.
