Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and Youth Mental Health First Aid are courses that teach individuals how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. They provide the skills needed to reach out along with initial help and support for someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.

The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth and adults, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
